Frequently Asked Questions

In the Conversation Class, topics are specifically chosen to practice particular grammar structures, verb tenses, vocabulary, or expressions. The classes are organized by proficiency levels, and the teacher provides explanations and corrections.

In contrast, the Conversation Club discusses a wide range of topics with minimal teacher intervention. The sessions are conducted entirely in Spanish, requiring participants to have a bit more fluency to effectively practice their speaking and listening skills. It’s a great challenge!

Each student is different, so in private lessons we get to know their learning preferences, goals, interests, and availability. That usually takes between one to three lessons. Along the way, we may make some adjustments to the teaching strategies.

If you have previous contact with Spanish we can speak over the phone or via Zoom. We can assess your level and offer you the class that is best for you.

For private lessons, we identify where you are at and where you need to do some work. It could be pronunciation, grammar rules, vocabulary, etc.

Sure, we know the programs and we are familiar with different books used in secondary schools and universities. We also prepare students for specific exams like IB, SAT, DELE, AATSP, etc.

It depends on the time you devote to your studies, and how much contact you have with the language. Usually, students are able to have casual conversations after three months.

We use the text book Soleado and that can be easily bought online.

We also create our own materials and use exercises, videos, recordings, songs, flash cards, and games.

Groups classes are 1.5 hours long twice a week during 5 weeks.

Conversation classes are 1 hour long.

Private classes are usually one hour long but that can be adjusted. Some students like doing 1.5 or 2 hours in a row. Children usually take lessons of 45 minutes.

The conversation Club is one hour long.

Spanish is spoken in more than 20 countries, and different Spanish speakers can understand each other. Something similar happens in English, there are variations in vocabulary, pronunciation, idiomatic expressions, grammar, and culture. We explain those differences during the lessons.
